Employee Assistance Program
Employees, their dependents, and household members are eligible for free and confidential behavioral health resources provided through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Children attending college can use the EAP if there is a Magellan network provider in the geographic area or they can see one when they come home on weekends or breaks.
- Adult children who have returned home to live with the employee for whatever reason have access to EAP benefits.
- Elderly parents who have come to live with the employee are also eligible for EAP benefits, as they would be considered household members.
- Employees on disability status have access to their EAP benefits.
- If you require long term treatment after your free Magellan Behavioral Health sessions end, you can utilize the behavioral health benefits available through your UHC medical plan.
Counseling
The EAP offers a confidential counseling service available to you and your eligible dependents to help solve personal problems that may affect your health, family life, or job performance. You may have up to five sessions per personal problem or concern, provided per year at no charge.
- No medical or mental health diagnosis given
- Completely confidential and releasable only to employee with a signed release

Calm Health App
It’s very common to feel stress, but there are ways to help address it and improve your mental health. UnitedHealthcare offers the Calm Health app for personalized mental health support. To access Calm Health, sign into myuhc.com and look for the Calm Health information under Coverage & Benefits> Mental health>Explore all your mental health benefits. Optum Wellbeing (access code ORNL) also has resources on mental health topics to help you, which include:
